Wait, are you saying the Bible says hell fire exists? Or are you saying that hell actually exists?

Hell Exists
by Poppy520 inmany people of all denominations are beginning to believe that hell does not exist - but the bible supports the claim that it does.
examine this verse, one under nkjv and the other nwt:.
nkjv - matthew 25:46, "and these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.".

Charismatic People
by Coded Logic ini was writing about a friend of mine.
i'm a little curious if anyone else knows people like this too.. if personal inquiries were bullets then you’re charisma would be the stuff of ceramic plates and kevlar vests.
i say that because most of these charismatic people i know use their charm to relate to other people.

I was writing about a friend of mine. I'm a little curious if anyone else knows people like this too.
If personal inquiries were bullets then you’re charisma would be the stuff of ceramic plates and kevlar vests. Because you don’t just use your charm to get to know other people. You also use your charm to make sure other people don’t get to know you. The real you.
It’s fair to say I know a lot of charismatic people. But you, my friend, take it to a whole new level. I say that because most of these charismatic people I know use their charm to relate to other people. Most of them use this magic - this sorcery - to captivate and communicate with complete strangers in a way that I never could. Some of them can enter the most random and impromptu of situations and, within seconds, have me believing it’s what they intended all along. Looking from the outside, it’s like a unique language they instantly tailor to the people around them - and it’s a process that’s so natural to them I sometimes think every single stranger they encounter must surely be a lifelong friend.
But as impressive as all that is, you, my friend, are on a whole new level. Sure, you use your charisma to do these things. But there's also something else that you’re doing as well. You’re using your charisma as a defense. You use it to disarm and ease the people around you while simultaneously wielding it as a shield. Personal questions are deflected. Intimate beliefs are protected. And intentions are always shielded well out of view.
You make friends everywhere you go. And yet you have few friends you can relate to. -

The Problems of Child Abuse
by Coded Logic ini think it's absolutely disgusting how the organisation has treated childhood victims of pedophilia and rape.
i think their "standards" of requiring two witnesses for belief is absurd.
i think how they try and quietly brush things under the rug in the back rooms of kingdom halls is completely despicable.

The issues of Child Abuse are very wide spread and real. However, I think there's a huge difference between an organisation which happens to have a child abuser in it vs. an organisation that allows known child abusers to have positions of authority.
Congress is staffed with hundreds of young aids and teenage interns. Many of whom are going to have to be around Roy Moore. What's going to happen when one of them says, "Hey, Roy has been making inappropriate comments to me." or "He touched me inappropriately."
Are Ryan and McConnel going to say, "Well Alabamians chose him so tough luck there. We all knew what we were getting."

I stand corrected. I should have said, "He dated and sexually assaulted 15 year old girls."

It's not just the 14 year old. It was also the 16 year old. And this was NOT consent:
"Instead of answering my question, Mr. Moore reached over and began groping me, putting his hands on my breasts. I tried to open my car door to leave, but he reached over and locked it so I could not get out. I tried fighting him off, while yelling at him to stop, but instead of stopping he began squeezing my neck attempting to force my head onto his crotch. I continued to struggle. I was determined that I was not allow him to force me to have sex with him. I was terrified. He was also trying to pull my shirt off. I thought that he was going to rape me. I was twisting and struggling and begging him to stop. I had tears running down my face. At some point he gave up. He then looked at me and said, “you are a child. I am the District attorney of Etiwah County. If you tell anyone about this, no one will believe you.”"

"Mr. Moore attacked me when I was a child," Nelson said, adding that she was 15 when he began flirting with her and 16 at the time of the alleged assault. "I want Mr. Moore to know that he no longer has any power over me."The allegations of force would be considered sexual abuse in the first degree. -

I think it's absolutely disgusting how the Organisation has treated childhood victims of pedophilia and rape. I think their "standards" of requiring two witnesses for belief is absurd. I think how they try and quietly brush things under the rug in the back rooms of kingdom halls is completely despicable. And every time I hear about it - it turns my stomach. Because this is an issue upon which we should all agree - don't rape children - and don't support or protect those who do. How can these elders who run around proclaiming the moral purity of the Watchtower be so naive, heartless, and ethically impotent when it comes to protecting children from being sexually assaulted?
Where is their sense of decency? Where is their humanity?
Over the past month I've been once again asking these questions. But about a very different organisation. Two weeks ago Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan said they believe Roy Moores accusers - they said they "believe the women". I, of course, was glad to hear them say this. Finally, we were seeing some moral backbone from the Republican leadership. But now this week now they've changed their tune saying it's okay to support Roy Moore. And the RNC has pledged to give over a million dollars to the mans campaign by weeks end.
Is this what the RNC has become? They've moved on from saying "We don't believe the victims" to "We just don't care" . . . ?
And the President who ran his campaign on being the "law and order candidate" - has now fully endorsed someone who dated and raped 15 year old girls. Trump is out campaigning for the guy - because, and I quote, "We need his vote".
I'm beyond outraged. I'm, well, numb. Numb in the same way when I hear the Organisation say, "Yeah, we know the guy groped children in the past but we are going to promote him to Ministerial Servant now because we really need help in the Hall." or "Yeah, we know this guy raped that little girl, never faced the consequences because we told her parents not to go to the police, and he never admitted fault or apologized - but we really - really - need Elders right now so we're going to try him out as an Elder."
Such have become the words of McConnell, Ryan, and Trump. They know what Moore did. But they just don't care. They "need the votes".

I hope this is just a joke, because when reading this board, I thought this was'nt suppose to happen

i am confused about something that i read on this board.
it was the subject about the building and development of new kingdom halls.

I'm confused, if you are not part of that organization for decades, why do you care about any of what they do or don't do?
Because what the Society does affects many of our friends and families that are still in.

Watchtower Philosophy Debates
by Wild_Thing ini was wondering how many of you still enjoy (or maybe you just feel the need) to discuss and debate jw doctrine and scripture.
i find myself scrolling right past those topics i see online.
i could care less.

Coded Logic
I too usually just scroll past any biblical or theological debates. It's a bit like listening to two nerds discussing if Gandalf the Gray had gray hair or white hair - each citing different passages from Tolkiens work to support their positions - in the end who cares? It's a fictional character!!!
But there are still a few topics I've found interesting. Like how there's lots of historical evidence for people being crucified on cross' in the first and second centuries. Or that the doctrine of hell fire really is a biblical message that doesn't require any mental gymnastics. And that the teaching of a Trinity - from a Biblical sense - is on a lot more solid footing than I ever imagined. Etc.
But my interest in these topics only exists as far as my JW ignorance. That is to say - how surprising it is how little I knew about a book I supposedly studied every single week.
